Thai flower power

I love gardening and in the cold north I am always missing the lush tropical gardens. So I cannot help taking lots of photos of the tropical flowers whenever possible. In Thailand there are always lots of beautiful flowers, here are some of them. At first some photos from Koh Tao, Coral Grand Resort.



The flower above is heliconia gloriosa. There are lots of different types of heliconias and it took time to find the right name in the net. This one was growing near our bungalow.



Water lettuce above was in front of the reception area at our hotel in Koh Tao.



The white one above is crinum lily, crinum asiaticum.



There were a lot of hibiscus around the hotel grounds, here two colour variants.



Below two photos of banana flowers (musa ornata) just in front of our bungalow.





In front of the reception area there were some water basins with fresh flowers every day.



There were also nice orchids:



Following orchid was found in the garden of Jim Thompson's house museum in Bangkok.
